My Kids Needed Health Insurance
I have always had decent health care coverage from my work. It is one of the reasons why I have remained at the same job for so long. My kids have always been on my ex-husband’s policy at his work, so we never had a problem with any of us being covered in the event of illness or an emergency. A couple of weeks ago, my ex called me and told me that he had been fired from his job. I immediately did a search for assurant child only health coverage for a number of reasons when he told me this heartbreaking news.
I knew that he would be eligible for Cobra, but I also knew that it would be very expensive. I had already checked about putting them on my own insurance through my work, but it would have cost more than I could afford. Read more…
